About the designer

As an Asian American born and raised in NYC, Amy has always drawn inspiration from different cultures as well as her own. Since a young age, she loved drawing and working with her hands. Amy is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Jewelry Design program.

Over the past decade, Amy has honed her skills for companies such as Sotheby’s, Nicholas Varney through a private jewelry company and Erica Molinari - mentored by a traditional master jeweler. Highly sought after for her attention-to-detail and inventive techniques, Amy has created many custom pieces for both private individuals and high-end designers.

In the fall of 2019, Amy branched out on her own to realize her personal creative vision. Lorimer was born.

Not unlike the jewelry she creates there is an alchemy to Amy Fu and her approach to design. Her pieces are the amalgamation of old-world techniques and modern innovation, and her approach as a designer is every bit a combination of her experiences and training. Having studied the creative arts at SVA and FIT and training under master goldsmiths, Amy brings a unique balance of precision and self-expression to her jewelry line.

What's in a name?

Amy named her line “Lorimer” after the train station across from her childhood home in Brooklyn. “Lorimer St” station represents Amy’s connection to friends, family, experiences, and New York City. No matter where she is, NYC will always be home base, and “Lorimer” the link.
